Like many of you, the members of our group have lived in this city, raised children here, and seen the tremendous growth and popularity of this city over the years. Similarly, our communities, businesses, diversity, and skyline have grown exponentially. The money coming into the city has been dispersed among a varying number of programs and initiatives, and that funding has been disparately proportioned among those programs. One example of this is the lack of support to police and communities. We, along with other businesses, neighbors, political leaders, and retired police officers have formed a not for profit 501(c)(3), SaferNashville. The purpose of SaferNashville is to supply our Police and communities with the necessary tools and technology not funded by Metro Council, but needed to make Nashville a safer city for businesses and neighborhoods.
